Waterhaul® is a social enterprise based in Newquay, Cornwall. They rescue waste plastic from the ocean and redesign it into sustainable and stylish recycled eyewear.
All of their 100% recycled fishing net frames come with a lifetime guarantee. That’s because they know that if the plastic hadn’t been rescued, it would last a lifetime polluting the oceans and destroying sea-life.
640,000 tonnes of fishing nets are left in the ocean each year! This disturbing figure highlights just how much risk their is to sea-life and the ocean’s biodiversity.
The glasses-
Each of our Waterhaul® glasses are made using 100% recycled fishing nets with recyclable mineral glass optics (aside from the sports lens- see below). All the frames are guaranteed for life and are fully recyclable– just return them back to Waterhaul® and they’ll shred them back to be reused once more.

The FITZROY glasses come with a choice of 2 lenses, both are polarised;
- Mineral glass= Polarised Waterhaul x Barberini signature lenses- optimum clarity, high level of scratch resistance- allowing for a life filled with sea and sand. No other lens material matches its optical clarity.
- Bio-based lightweight sport= Cellulose-based plastic polarised lenses made for high-intensive activity. 75% reduced lens weight with a superior impact resistance. Anti-reflection inner coating and UVA/B protection.
Both are polarised which eliminates glare on the snow, wet roads and water.
