Why choose cotton over bamboo?
Bamboo crops need less water than cotton crops, up to 2/3 less in fact! Farmers don’t need to irrigate their crops. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal. Bamboo grows without the need for fertilisers or pesticides. Bamboo plants mostly re-shoot and re-plant all by themselves, yielding ten times higher the amount that cotton crops could.
Bamboo yarn is naturally soft too, with less dye required on bamboo viscose than cotton, making coloured bamboo more long-lasting than cotton. Bamboo viscose is also naturally stronger and more hardwearing than cotton, is up to 40% more moisture absorbent than cotton, and is super soft and hypoallergenic. Naturally antibacterial and antifungal, making bamboo the natural choice for socks!
